Frequently Asked Questions Well, actually, I haven't been asked any questions about the site yet. However, I can anticipate some questions that might come my way, such as: 1. What part does the events of "End of the Circle" by Jack McKinney play in Clone? 2. What part do the other Academy Comics play in Clone? 3. What part do the Antartic Press Comics play in Clone? 4. What exactly is the Robotech RPG? 5. Sounds Interesting. Where can I get it? 6. Will you do any more Clone Comics/suppliments? 7. Why does it take so long for new stuff to appear? 8. where can I get Robotech stuff? 9. Is there any way to see Robotech? 10. Is there any way to download Clone without fiddling around with all this HTML? What part does the events of the novel "End of the Circle" by Jack McKinney play in Clone? Simple. None. Clone follows the "Aftermath" timeline from the comic "Invid War Aftermath" by Bruce Lewis and Robert Percachuk, and later by Bruce Lewis. The Timeline ignores the events of "End of the Circle" completley, preferring to tell the story of an earth that must rebuild without the aid of the REF, who are all trapped on Tirol by the deactivation of protoculture caused by the Invid's departure. It was published by Eternity comics, and later by Academy comics. What part do the other Eternity/Academy comics play in Clone? Basically, Clone's beginnings are in "Return to Macross" #15 by Bill Spangler and Wes Abbott(a subplot sees Gilles stealing Zentraedi Tech from the Macross), and "Invid War Aftermath" #s 7-9(collected as "The Threadbare Heart" Trade Paperback) by Rosearik Rikki and Tavisha Wolfgarth, which introduced Annie and Lancer(From the New Generation Series to the IHE and Gilles and Demont. The only other appearance of the Mordecai or her crew outside of Clone and Mordecai is in "Aftermath" # 10, which shows the Mordecai arriving in Andromeda. What part does Antartic Press's Robotech Comics play in Clone? Again, none. I consider all of AP's Robotech Comics to be self contained "side stories", which have no impact or effect on the rest of the continuity. What Exactly is the Robotech RPG? RPG is short for Role Playing Game, which can be described as a game of Let's Pretend, but instead of running around, the players all sit at a table with a sheet of paper that describes what they can and can't do. There is a set of rules to avoid disputes such as "I shot you!", "No you Didn't", "Yes I did!" and so on. The Robotech RPG is published by Palladium Books, and covers the Macross era. Sourcebooks exist that detail Southern Cross/Masters, Invid Invasion/New Generation, as well as the lost "Sentinels" sequel series. All you really need to play Clone is either the basic rules or Sentinels(both contain the main rules), and the data contained here. Sounds interesting, where can I get it? Well, your best bet is a shop that stocks role playing games. Sadly, if you live in Ireland, like me, you're out of luck, as nowhere stocks it, but they might try and get it in for you. I got my stuff at a convention in England. Failing shops and cons, try a good mail order place, or direct from Palladium Books' Web Site. However, they don't order outside of the US, AFAIK. Will you do any more Clone comics/suppliments? Odds are that I won't. I don't want to tread on Rosearik and Tavisha's work, and I'm not sure how to continue. I may put some stand alone adventures up at some point, though. Why does it take so long for new stuff to appear? Because I'm approaching the end of a College term, and have exams and assignments to do. Clone is a spare time hobby, rather than a job. Where can I get Robotech stuff? Oh boy. Most Robotech Merchandise is long out of print, but the Novels are generally available from any good science fiction bookshop, and the current run of comics can be picked up at a comic shop. Barring that, posting on the newsgroups rec.arts.anime.marketplace , alt.tv.robotech , or rec.arts.sf.tv.robotech asking for stuff should garner some leads. Robotech merchandise took the form of Toys(some nice mecha and awful action figures), posters and badges and stuff, and the aforementioned comics and books. Also, a lot of merchandise for the TV shows that made up Robotech(Macross, Southern Cross, and MOSPEDA)can be available, but more expensive. Also check out web pages that sell anime merchandise, such as otaku.com Is there any way to see Robotech? That I don't know. Various videos are available around the world, just check in a science fiction/comic shop, or your nearest Tower Records/Virgin Megastore for more info. On TV, I don't know. The UK sci-fi channel showed the series through a couple of times, but don't right now, and the Cartoon Network in the US were showing it last year. Right now, I don't know, and you should try a Robotech newsgroup for more details. Back to the Index
